How would you feel about a driver-less taxi?

It's like Uber without those awkward conversations between drivers and passengers.

MIT researchers are launching a completely autonomous taxi service called nuTonomy that operates on demand like Uber — just without anyone behind the wheel in Singapore later this year.

Using your phone, you'll call a self-driving car to you, tell it your destination, and then sit back and let the car drive you there.

Obviously, the logistics and safety concerns for this type of service are quite vast, but nuTonomy founders Karl Iagnemma and Emilio Frazzoli believe they've developed an approach to make this a reality.
